Predictions Without the Poison: Why We Went Gambling-Free

Sport prediction is everywhere right now, and nearly all of it is a slot machine wearing a scarf. The advertising is relentless, the psychology is engineered, and the families who can least afford it pay the most. We wanted the fun of the call — the argument, the conviction, the scoreboard settling it — without the poison.

So we built The Prediction Open the other way around. You call the week's clashes and attach an honest confidence to every pick — from a coin-flip fifty to a near-certain ninety-five. When results land, the maths rewards honesty: bravado gets punished, calibration gets rewarded, and your Prediction IQ becomes a genuine measure of how well you read the game. It's built on scoring science older than television — and it costs nothing, pays nothing, and never will.

Points and bragging rights only. Family-safe, gambling-free. A grandfather and a grandchild can compete on the same leaderboard, and the only thing anyone loses is an argument.

Some people asked why we would leave the betting rands on the table. Because we are a wellbeing family before we are anything else, and you cannot teach the wisdom of the game with one hand while feeding its most predatory industry with the other. The game deserves fans whose weekends don't depend on the spread. We'd rather build for them.

Watch smarter. Call it honestly. Keep your money for the braai.
